Your story deserves permanence.

This is more than ink, it’s intention made visible, crafted to last a lifetime.

Tattoo Artists in Cancun

The Hands Behind the Mark

Within the tattoo shop exists knowledge few understand. Artisans stand as guardians of an ancient craft, each initiated into mysteries that transcend technique. The needle becomes a key, the skin a temple. In their hands, permanence is not mere aesthetics; it is a covenant. To sit in their chair is to enter a circle where the mark transforms into sacred testimony, where the bearer and artist seal a pact written in ink.

One language: the permanent kind.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

It depends. Some areas feel like a slight scratch, others will make you grip the armrest. Bony areas like ribs, spine, and feet tend to be more sensitive. Fleshy areas like the outer arm or thigh are generally much more manageable. Our artists will guide you through the experience and keep sessions comfortable. First-timers are always welcome, we'll take care of you.

How should I prepare before getting a tattoo?

Eat a solid meal before your session; low blood sugar makes everything harder. Stay well hydrated, wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the tattoo area, and avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before. Get a good night's sleep. Show up rested, and we'll take it from there.

How long does a tattoo session take?

Small pieces can be completed in 30 minutes to an hour. Medium custom designs typically take 2-4 hours. Large or detailed work may require multiple sessions. We'll give you an accurate time estimate before we begin, no surprises, no rushing.

Is the tattoo process safe?

Your safety is non-negotiable. We use a hospital-grade autoclave to sterilize all reusable equipment, and every needle and ink cartridge is single-use — opened in front of you and disposed of immediately after your session. Our studio follows strict sanitation protocols throughout every appointment. You can ask to see our process at any time — we have nothing to hide.

How much are tattoos in cancun?

At Ink Society, small pieces start at $80 USD and custom work from $150 USD per session. Pricing varies depending on size, complexity, and placement. We provide a full quote before any session begins. What you will always get here is honest pricing and work worth every dollar.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, walk-ins are welcome. We keep availability for spontaneous sessions, especially for smaller pieces. If you're visiting Cancun and the moment feels right, come find us in the Hotel Zone. That said, booking in advance guarantees your spot and gives us time to prepare a custom design just for you.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. We ask for a deposit to reserve your appointment — it's applied toward the total cost of your session. This ensures your artist can dedicate preparation time to your design. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations without 48 hours' notice.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept cash (USD and MXN), and major credit and debit cards. Please confirm the current accepted methods when booking, as options may vary.

What should I avoid after getting a tattoo?

For the first 2-3 weeks: avoid direct sunlight on the tattoo, no swimming (ocean, pools, jacuzzis), no picking or scratching the healing skin, and no tight clothing over the area. Keep it clean, moisturized, and out of the sun. We'll send you home with full aftercare instructions.

How long does a tattoo take to heal?

Surface healing usually takes 2-4 weeks. Full skin healing at the deeper layers can take 3-6 months. During that time, it's normal for the tattoo to peel, itch lightly, and look cloudy; that's all part of the process. Follow the aftercare instructions, and your piece will settle beautifully.
